2016 Rusen Weissenborn
Michael Rusen is an independent luthier from Victoria, BC who has been building Weissenborn style guitars for years. This example (serial number 30) was built in 2016 and is a seriously sweet instrument. Very solid, yet lightly built, one can feel the care taken in its construction. Tonally this guitar is rich and full, remarkably expressive in the hands of a capable player. The cuts of Koa chosen for this piece are nothing short of eye catching, and the inherent tonality of this tone wood is on full display. Add in the hardshell case and Fishman Rare Earth pickup, and you’ve got a Weissenborn style guitar that is ready for the studio or stage.
Cosmetic Condition:
This guitar was meticulously cared for by its previous owner and as such shows practically no signs of play wear. We would consider it to be in EXCELLENT + condition.
