T-63 in Fiesta Red

$1,900.00

“Our T63 represents a big shift in focus from the T52 and T57. This model is available in all standard finishes we offer, including the classic automotive inspired colors we've all come to know and love. The T63 is available with a 3-ply pickguard in Black, White, Mint, or Tortoise Shell. This model comes in either ash or alder, with a rosewood fretboard.” – From the Nash Website

Perhaps one of the most notable boutique Telecaster-style guitars, this Nash T-63 boasts a multitude of attractive features. Nash guitars are known not only for their wonderful sound and feel, but also their beautifully relic’d finishes. This particular model sports a worn fiesta red aesthetic that harkens back to some of the original Telecaster that we all know and love.

When speaking of this instrument, it is near impossible not to mention the pickups. The Lollar Telecaster style pickups bring a unique tonal profile to this guitar, giving it a nice distinction from a standard Fender. As opposed to the normal bright sound that we often hear in a set of telecaster pickups, these Lollars have a very pleasing taper on the top end. Especially when playing with some gain, the pickups seem to err more on the side of a darker sound. It is worth noting that when compared to a humbucker, these pickups are still relatively bright. However, even with the tone knob wide open, the player would be hard pressed to get a shrill sound out of these pickups without the assistance of a certain amp or outboard EQ. They are incredibly responsive and expressive, making it a great sound for any style.

Another notable feature on this guitar is the feel. The most immediate aspect of this is the neck contour. The neck has a carve more consistent with that of a larger “C” carve, such that it fills your hand nicely but still leaves a bit of wiggle room to move around easily. In addition to this, the aged finish of both the neck and body give it a home-y feel – one that makes picking it up not only comfortable, but inspiring too. With said aged finish, the guitar lacks the high-gloss finish that can sometimes prove to be difficult to play on in certain conditions. Overall, this guitar has the general vibe of a Fender Telecaster but with some specialized structural characteristics that make it feel like the perfect Telecaster-style guitar.

Due to the intentional relic of this guitar’s finish, it is tough to discern between relic marks and signs of actual use. The back of the neck and headstock are free of dings and dents, and the body only exhibits the normal relicing that comes with the finish. As such, we would rate this guitar in EXCELLENT condition.
