“Every component of the 71 M works together to create a unique voice and feel.  Its set-neck coupling forms a unique neck-body connection that, paired with its Mastery bridge and offset vibrato, creates an almost hollow-body-like resonance.  Vibrations move in a circular dance, giving the 71 M its distinct sense of motion and musicality. A pair of Lollar pickups, including a Blademaster in the neck and a JM P90 in the bridge, produce a full voice in all three standard pickup positions, with Davies Radio knobs, 250k pots, and Jupiter Vintage Yellow capacitors delivering the volume and tone.  A pull of the tone knob sends the pickups into series for a humbucker-like boost.” – From the Collings website

There is a lot to love about this guitar. The combination of the Lollar Blademaster and JM P90 pickups offer a more robust output and range of sounds than other single-coil configurations. Its soft V shape neck and lighter body make the 71 M a pleasure to play!
