Gibson’s Les Paul Standard is a guitar that needs no introduction. Truly one of the most iconic electric guitars of all time, it’s a guitar that changed the course of history. A Les Paul Standard into a Marshall is perhaps the single most important combination in the history of rock music, so it’s no wonder that the list of Les Paul players is innumerable. The Les Paul Standard has found its way into the hands of the likes of Slash, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Billy Gibbons, Peter Green, Joe Perry, Kirk Hammett, Joe Bonamassa, and, of course, Les Paul himself! 

Both the feel and sound of this guitar live up to the hype. When combined with a good tube amp, the pickups have a moment to shine as they are very expressive. In addition, there is a pleasing high end taper even when the bridge tone is wide open that gives the player that classic Les Paul sound without the harsh upper midrange content. The slim tapered neck proves very easy to play and fits the hand. Despite its stout weight, this guitar still feels very comfortable and is consistently inspiring to pick up.

Condition

This guitar is in remarkably great condition showing few normal signs of playwear.  There are a couple of small dents in the finish on the front, near the butt, with a matching set of several finish scratches in the middle of the back.  Otherwsie, some elements have been changed out.  The tuning keys were changed swapped with gold Sperzel locking tuners (included), which we have now swapped back to period correct gold closed back tuners with kidney buttons.  The original Gibson pickups (included) were replaced with a pair of Lindy Fralin Unbuckers with gold covers.  Lastly, the tailpiece and pickguard were also changed out with new counterparts.   As such, we would consider this guitar NEAR MINT CONDITION.
