The Georgia Dreadnought

The Georgia Dreadnought

$5,200.00

This Georgia Dreadnought is a veritable union of honoring the past while adding subtle innovations to perhaps improve on a classic design. A handmade dread in the vein of the iconic Martin D-18,  it is a true “banjo killer”, offering the excellent projection and note separation that flatpickers long for.

The body depth is roughly 1/8” deeper than that of a standard dreadnought, which allows for a more robust low end and a noticeable increase in volume but avoids leading to a less comfortable playing position.  Aiding in the overall richness of its voice is the single-scalloped top bracing, in which only the bass side of the X is scalloped.  String to string and note to note, there is a remarkable amount of balance and evenness appropriate for anything from more aggressive strumming to rapid single note runs, even on down to fingerstyle.

Though used, this guitar is in remarkable condition with only minor signs of playwear in the form of light scuffing on and around the pickguard consistent with regular strumming.  Additionally, there are a couple of indentations in the finish around the treble side waist (one of the side itself, and one to match on the back).  Lastly, there are several minor blemishes across the top of the headstock itself.  This guitar is in Excellent Condition.
