This player’s grade OM-09RW is a testament to the solid build quality and rich tonality to which Larrivee players have become accustomed.   This particular OM shines as a fingerstyle guitar with note separation, sparkle, and clarity being the name of the game. The 25.5” scale length give it a voice and projection favorable to those who play with a flat pack. A versatile tool for a versatile player, this guitar has been modified with an aftermarket Fishman Rare Earth Pickup system, which is well known for it’s evenness, reliable balance, while suffering none of the interference a piezo system may be subject to in louder applications. In short, this is a working guitar for a working musician. As an added perk, this guitar also includes an upgraded Martin 500 series case.

Cosmetic Condition:

This particular OM-09RW was built in September of 1998 and has seen a great deal of play in its life; and, while it has been well maintained, signs of playwear are definitely present.  The most obvious cosmetic and structural point of wear is a repaired top crack running from the bridge to the butt. This top crack is also flanked by a pair of insipient cracks extending from the bridge.  Fortunately, neither of these incipient cracks represent a structural threat at present.  Otherwise, there are a series of small dings across the entire top, as well as similar markings on the binding on the treble side from the waist to the lower bout.  On the back, we note matching blemishes on the binding of the lower bout on the treble side.  Additionally, the finish exhibits a decent amount of orange peel (a.k.a., lacquer sink). In this case, the resultant visual impact of lacquer's tendency to settle and “pit” has likely been exacerbated by defects in the pore filler (applied before the finish) used at the time. This pore filler flaw was an industry-wide issue in the late ‘90s and early ‘00s, and it affected a number of manufacturers (e.g., Martin, Taylor, Collings, and perhaps most infamously, Tacoma).  GOOD CONDITION
