Repair Pricing (Updated July, 2022)
General Shop Rate = $80/hour
Re-string* – Includes: general fingerboard cleaning, light fret buffing, tightening of tuning hardware, string replacement, and tuning.
- 6-string guitar, bass, ukulele, banjo – $25
- 12-string, mandolin – $35
- Rickenbacker 12-string – $80
- Floating vibrato (e.g., Floyd Rose/Kahler) – $40
- Partial re-string – $5 per string
*Strings are not included in the re-string charge.
Setup* – Includes: truss rod adjustment, adjustment the nut and saddle(s), intonation, cleaning and/or oiling of the fingerboard, fret polishing, hardware tightening, general cleaning of electronics, and re-stringing.

Nuts & Saddles*
- Custom bone intonated saddle – $80
- Long saddle – $100
- Custom bone nut – $90**
- 12 String Nut – $120**
- Fill and re-route saddle slot – $90 + saddle
- Custom nut and/or saddle combined with setup –10% discount on combined labor charges (strings and bone blanks are additional)
* Nut and saddle prices do not include the bone blanks.
** Nut replacements can require setup work in addition to crafting the nut itself. Any such work will be quoted at the general shop rate.
Bridge Work
- Bridge tack – HOURLY RATE (1/2 hour minimum)
- Bridge re-glue – HOURLY RATE (1 1/2 hour minimum)
- New bridge – custom made ebony or rosewood – $400
- Bridge plate replacement – $300+
- Install Platemate – $25
- Fit floating bridge base – HOURLY RATE (1 hour minimum)
Fret Re-dress – Includes: leveling and re-crowning of all frets and setup
- Rosewood or ebony fingerboard – $160
- Maple or finished fingerboard, 12-string, or floating vibrato – $200
Re-fretting
- Unbound fretboard – $375
- Maple or finished (e.g., Rickenbacker) fretboard – $450
- Bound fretboard – $25 additional
- Stainless steel frets – $100 additional
- Partial re-fret (includes fret redress) – fret re-dress base price plus $15/fret
General Fret Work
- Glue loose fret ends – HOURLY RATE (1 hour minimum)
- File and dress sharp fret ends – HOURLY RATE (1/2 hour minimum)
Neck Re-sets*
- Dovetail joint (e.g., Martin, Gibson) – $700+
- Bolt-on joint – HOURLY RATE
*Dovetail neck re-sets will typically include a re-fret and a new saddle, in addition to setup and re-stringing.
Structural Repairs
- Crack repair – HOURLY RATE
- Re-glue loose bracing – HOURLY RATE
- Re-glue loose binding – HOURLY RATE (1/2 hour minimum)
- Cracked headstock* – HOURLY RATE (1 hour minimum)
- Completely severed headstock* – HOURLY RATE (5 hour minimum)
*The cost of this repair is determined on a case by case assessment.
Acoustic Guitar Pickup Installation
- Under saddle or bridgeplate mounted – $80
- Soundhole pickup (e.g., Rare Earth, M1) – $60
- Blending / multi-source pickups – $95+
- Onboard preamp – HOURLY RATE (2 1/2 hour minimum)
- 12-string installation – $15 additional
Electric Wiring*
- Install pickups on solid body – $40 each
- Replace pots – $40 each
- Replace jack on solid body – $30
- Replace Switch – HOURLY RATE (1/2 hour minimum)
- Archtop, semi-hollow/, or thinline wiring – HOURLY RATE (2 1/2 hour minimum)
- Custom wiring – HOURLY RATE
- Toubleshoot electronics – HOURLY RATE
*These services do not include parts (e.g., pots, switches, etc.).
Pickguards
- Install pre-cut tortoiseshell or opaque pickguard – $15
- Install clear pickguard (pre-cut) – $60
- Remove and replace Martin style – $160
- Custom pickguard – HOURLY RATE (1 1/2 hour minimum)
- Replace Strat-style pickguard* – $80 + parts
*This service does not include restring labor or strings.

- Kit Guitar Assembly – HOURLY RATE

- Install strap button – $10
- Inlay fingerboard side dot – $20 each

**We offer finish touch-up and selective re-finishing (e.g., necks). All finish work is accepted and quoted on a case-by-case basis.
Additional Services
Restringing Lessons – If you need a little help with that first restring, you can call on us! This service is available by appointment only with the sales staff. $25, in addition to the re-string fee and strings.
Packaging Guitars for Shipment – We routinely ship guitars, and we are happy to package your guitar for shipment. Our professional packing service includes the box and packaging materials ($20 separately). For liability reasons, we cannot ship your guitar. $50, including the shipping box and packaging.
Custom/Specialized Repairs – We are always happy to evaluate instruments for repairs that are more specialized (e.g., neck re-contouring, left hand conversions, etc.). We accept this sort of work on a case by case basis, and we will decline any repair work where we do not think we can achieve best results.
