The addition of sound ports is becoming more common on guitars today, and it is easy to understand why - they not only give the player an enhanced aural experience, but they kind of turbocharge the instrument. According to Kenny, "the ports allow more air to move in and out of the body of the guitar. This lets the soundboard vibrate more freely adding volume, openness, clarity, and depth to the sound for the listener." And the addition of an elevated fingerboard adds easy accessibility to the upper register of the guitar.
