2007 Classical Model with Port Orford Cedar and Palo Escrito

2007 Classical Model with Port Orford Cedar and Palo Escrito

The first word that comes to mind in playing this fine example from James Goodall is:  smooth.  Why that word?  The basses are so big and bold that they could easily overpower the midrange and treble – except that they don’t.  The trebles with their buttery finish fully stand up to the basses, creating a response that is blended and smooth and powerful.  While James Goodall has used Palo Escrito and Port Orford Cedar with great success for many of his acoustic steel string instruments, few classical guitar builders use these exotic woods, especially in this combination. Here, with Goodall’s design, the results are impressive.  In addition to being a beautiful work of art, this guitar enables and inspires.

Condition: This guitar has been well maintained with the exception of several small top dents caused by an unfortunate accident while being played by its former owner.
