(Item ID: 2006 GS5    Serial#: 20060330149)

Taylor Guitars 2006 GS5 2006 Grand Symphony with Mahogany and Cedar and L.R. Baggs iBeam with Volume Control

When the Grand Symphony body shape was introduced in 2006, Taylor announced that it produced their "boldest, richest acoustic voice." Features unique to its design were expanded physical dimensions, including a slightly wider waist and a bigger lower bout. Taylor said, "think of it as a Grand Auditorium with a turbo boost."

Of all the models in the GS series, Taylor's GS5, which features mahogany back and sides with a cedar top, has always been a shop favorite, because the pliable cedar top mated to the larger GS body combine to produce such a beautiful warm tone. And, with its rich mid-range response and plenty of defined bass, the GS5 retains Taylor's signature note separation and clarity without sacrificing any low-end. Thus, we are especially pleased to have this guitar in our shop, because the cedar/mahogany combination is not currently offered in Taylor's Grand Symphony series.

This guitar includes an L.R. Baggs iBeam active pickup with volume control which sounds great in this guitar www.lrbaggs.com . It delivers a full transparent tone, and the volume wheel mounted on the underside lip of the soundhole makes for easy adjustments on the fly.

This guitar is in excellent condition with some minor playing wear from the original owner.

This guitar includes a deluxe archtop hardshell case. (used)
