Used Classical Guitars
Robert, Mikhail: ROBERT SPR/EIR(Item ID: ROBERT SPR/EIR Serial#: NNE061311601)
1996 Classical with Indian Rosewood and European Spruce
We were first introduced to Mikhail "Misha" Robert and his instruments in the late '90s when a dear friend of ours who loves guitars, collects guitars, and who had recently discovered Misha, made a trip to our shop from Florida with him just so we could meet Misha and try out a couple of his guitars. Well, we were delighted to make his acquaintance and to learn about his Russian past, gain a sense of his character, and to have the opportunity to understand his building philosophy and to appreciate his respect for older building traditions. And, we really liked his instruments. We purchased one of the guitars he had with him, and we believe we ordered another at a later time. Regardless, after that, Misha, who lived in Canada at that time, moved to another part of Canada, and we lost touch with him. Thus, it was a pleasant surprise when, recently, this superb example of his excellent craftsmanship found its way to us.
This 1996 Mikhail Robert concert classical guitar is in excellent condition with only some minor playing and handling wear on its top. This guitar is very much like the guitars we sold those many years ago, and we love it for the same reasons. It is effortless to play, not only for its splendid action and neck feel, but also for its generous open sound. Misha has a kind of old world ethic that inspires his work, and it is made manifest in his ability to capture a special kind of simplicity and nobility of tone, a sound with a spirit that warmly embraces the player and enables the player to more musically shape his or her performance.
