Martin, C.F.: DX1AE BURST

(Item ID: DX1AE BURST    Serial#: 2155837)

Martin, C.F. DX1AE BURST X Series Dreadnought with Satin Sunburst Solid Spruce Top and Macassar Ebony Pattern Back and Sides and Fishman Sonitone Preamp

As many know, the Martin company is a leader in an industry effort to insure that prime tone woods will be available in the future, that they will not be over harvested, and that they will be sustainable. As Chris Martin once stated, "I don't want to tell my daughter that I was the one that cut down the last tree!"

Thus, in the interests of preservation, and with a desire to make available high performance lower cost guitars that do not compromise Martin's very high quality standards, the "X" model guitars made in Martin's Mexican factory represent some of the most unique in the Martin line because of the use of wood based alternatives for many of the instruments principle components. For example, a wood resin HPL (High Pressure Laminate) is used for the back and sides, the neck is made from a multi-piece wood laminate called Stratabond, and the fingerboard and bridge feature a cellulose product made by Richlite. As these materials are not hygroscopic, they are not affected by moisture extremes, therefore they are durable. And, because they are wood based, they retain acoustic properties that make them useful for instrument construction.

An exception to the item list above is the soundboard material of an "X" model. As it is the essential component that drives the sound of a guitar and gives it a voice, the top an "X" model guitar, like those of most Martin guitars, is made from solid Sitka spruce, a primary tone wood in plentiful supply. The soundboard also features a unique "hybrid" bracing system that gives the "X" model guitars a sound that, like a family trait, every Martin guitar owner will recognize for its richness and warmth - so, no compromise here. Thus, with Martin's state-of-the-art build quality, the "X" model guitars are not only durable but feature smooth playability and a classic sound as well - built to last and fun to play.

And to add more playing pleasure, all non-cutaway "X" Series guitars can also be amplified because they are fitted with a Fishman Sonitone system featuring "easy access" volume and tone controls conveniently located just inside the sound hole.

This guitar does not include a case or gigbag.
