Baruke: PSALMIST(Item ID: PSALMIST)
Baruke Psalmist with Bois de Rose Back and Sides and Adirondack Spruce Top
We are frequently approached by local guitar builders to consider their guitars for our store. It is rare that we encounter individuals like Allen Williams who not only have the skill to build a beautiful guitar, but who also have found and developed their own unique voice. Baruke guitars are characterized by a dry, wide and powerful bass response that rumbles against a player's chest along with a well balanced, quick and responsive attack. There is a liveliness, depth and woody response to these guitars that is reminiscent of the tonal character of the best Gibsons. However, the Barukes have a longer sustain with a more lyrical finish.
The Psalmist is similar to a grand concert in terms of size, but it has such power that its volume is competitive with larger guitars. And, although it is quite versatile, the Psalmist really shines in alternate tunings where its low-end strength and overall sparkle compensate for any potential loss of projection due to reduced string tension.
This lovely Psalmist is one of Allens most impressive guitars to date. With stunning looks and sound to match, this instrument features gorgeous Bois De Rose, a cousin to Madagascar rosewood,on the back and sides with Adirondack spruce on the top, koa body bindings, and an abalone rosette. The Bois de Rose produces a Brazilian-esque crispness and color with a touch more saturation, and the Adirondack spruce contributes its signature power and cut.
Like all Baruke guitars, the Psalmist has a Tung oil finished, low profile 5-piece neck with a 1.75" nut that is fast and easy to play. Whether you have a number of high performance guitars or whether you are looking for your first, this Baruke Psalmist offers a sound and feel like no other.
This guitar includes a deluxe Cedar Creek Geib-style archtop hardshell case.
